Audience development platform Linksmart has released a feature which provides Web publishers with an opportunity to improve user engagement and better manage their revenue potential - and all without really touching the code on their website at all.
LinkSmart's new Keyword Discovery feature provides information about hyperlinked keywords within article content, revealing the best performing internal and external links - those 'inviting' the highest click-through rate (CTR) so to speak. That information is often available through website analytics systems (including many of those on our most recent Top 50 list of Analytics Solutions for Digital Media Pro's) but it's not always easy to access. LinkSmart takes a much different approach.
“Aside from increasing a site’s revenue potential, what is so exciting about Keyword Discovery is its ability to provide a clearer understanding of what keywords, and subsequently what content, readers are interested in at any given moment, hour, day or month,” said Pete Sheinbaum, founder and CEO of LinkSmart. “From editors who need visibility into what links are driving the most reader engagement to audience development teams that must ensure content is fully and strategically optimized, this new functionality is having a profound impact on our customers.”
In a limited test over the past few days, Website Magazine has been using the Linksmart platform and its Keyword Discovery feature (on a relatively limited basis albeit) but we've already seen some positive results. For the 17 keywords (many of which are somewhat esoteric), we've been able to generate additional clicks on the website and quite a few more earned pageviews.
