Rakuten Marketing Unveils Double Digit Growth

Rakuten Marketing is unveiling 2014’s first quarter results across all of its digital marketing channels, revealing double-digit growth through the company’s affiliate, mobile and search marketing technology and services.

In fact, Rakuten Marketing's data shows that the global affiliate marketing channel saw 23 percent same-store, year-over-year (YOY) sales growth in the US, 31 percent growth in the UK and 21 percent growth in Canada. Moreover, the data sheds light on mobile’s impact in the affiliate channel, revealing that mobile orders continued to rise with 99 percent YOY growth in the US, 113 percent growth in the UK and 251 percent growth in Canada. Tablet commerce also drove opportunities for affiliates, with 36 percent YOY growth in the US, 30 percent growth in the UK and 35 percent growth in Canada.

It is also important to note that Rakuten Marketing’s search marketing clients saw sales increase by 18 percent, conversion rates increase by 13 percent, return on ad spend grow by 10 percent and cost-per-click decrease by 4 percent in Q1. Furthermore, the company’s display and retargeting group saw 100 percent YOY growth in its client base, as well as expanded internationally through offices in Brazil, Japan, the UK and Australia.

New clients that joined Rakuten Marketing during the first quarter include affiliate advertisers Booking.com, Ticket Club and Forbes, to name a few. Additionally, Gourmet Gift Baskets, TopShop and MatchesFashion.com are examples of some  companies who signed on with Rakuten MediaForge in Q1 for display and retargeting campaigns.
