The product features several user interface improvements as well as some changes to its developer API.

Softaculous Auto Installer integrates into hosting control panels such as cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, H-Sphere and Interworx and allows users to install hundreds of application (blogs, forums, wikis, ERP, CRM and more) without the need for extensive setup or configuration. What I like best about Softaculous is that it offers Demos, Ratings, Reviews and screenshots of the various applications.

This version of Softaculous is also available in AMPPS, a WAMP and MAMP stack of Apache, MySQL, PHP, Perl, and Python. AMPPS is essentially an auto-installer that can be used on desktops and offic

"We have been working really hard to make Softaculous, Webuzo and AMPPS the best applications in their respective categories," said Pulkit Gupta, Softaculous founder and CEO, "and with version 4.0 of Softaculous and version 1.5 of AMPPS we are surely getting there. We have seen tremendous growth in the usage of AMPPS and some new features are also going to be released soon. At the same time some new products are also in the pipeline."

Those companies fostering the transformation stand to gain the most.

Enterprise visualization software provider iRise announced its iRise Developer network today which aims to do just that by encouraging the use of its iRise iBloc and iConnect APIs.

The iRise iBloc API enables the creation of widgets, events and actions from pre-built components for the assembly of complex visualizations, and the iRise iConnect API supports integrations and extensions to the iRise platform. With it, developers can create custom reporting tools, integrations to testing tools, extensions to the iRise platform and other new products that use and/or modify iRise data.

“Establishing an active developer community is an important next step in enabling innovative third-party solutions that extend the iRise portfolio,” said Maurice Martin, president, COO and founder of iRise. “The iDN is all about accelerating innovation to our customers and partners with a collaborative ecosystem of creative thinkers that develop complementary and value-added solutions on top of the iRise platform.”

rPath, which automates software system construction, deployment and maintenance across physical, virtual and cloud environments, today announced general availability of rBuilder 5.8, which brings automated deployment to the world of Windows server applications. rBuilder 5.8 represents the first commercial solution for automated deployment of Windows applications.

“Windows shops will see rPath’s solution for automating deployment of Windows applications as a satisfying answer to a longstanding problem,” said Bernd Harzog, principal analyst at The Virtualization Practice.

For most IT organizations, releasing Windows applications into production is complex, cumbersome and time-consuming. An absence of automation tools for deploying and configuring Windows applications results in long delays that negatively impact service levels and business agility. With rBuilder 5.8, rPath provides a solution for true “pushbutton deployment” of Windows applications.

Key rBuilder capabilities include automated dependency resolution, deep modeling and automated software packaging, version and release lifecycle controls, automated image generation, and cross-platform automation.
