GoDaddy has begun accepting pre-registrations for four new top level domains but it's not going to be cheap to get a head start - at least not if you've got your digital eye on the .luxury gTLD.
The four new top level domain names include .uno (dedicated to Spanish speakers), .menu (obviously ideal for restaurants), .build (offering a variety of potential uses), and .luxury (which is being positioned to those brands looking to appeal to a more affluent user).
The cost to pre-register these domains varies. Each offers a pre-registration and a priority pre-registration. Should more than one person engage in either type, the domain will go to auction. The pricing for these new TLDs, including both regular pre-registration and priority pre-registration prices, is listed below:
.Build / $99.99 / $189.99
.Luxury / $799.99 / $1.199.99
.Menu / $49.99 / $349.99
.Uno / $39.99 / $299.99
“We’ve heard from a lot of customers asking when they can start registering these new extensions,” said GoDaddy Vice President and General Manager Domains Mike McLaughlin. “Offering pre-registrations is a huge step forward for this process. We expect as more names come online, the demand will increase. These new names open up many more choices for consumers, which is great for the industry, and great for consumers.”
