boxPAY has launched an in-app billing product that will enable app developers to bill users for content without leaving the app – with the end charge going to the mobile phone bill.
Previously, the company's desktop widget has worked with Web merchants who want to offer alternative payment options to customers for services that require registration and traditional credit card billing. It enables customers to make online purchases by entering their mobile phone number at the point-of-sale.
However, the new product works on Android mobile and tablet applications, with the in-app product's software automatically recognizing the customer's phone number, which removes the SMS confirmation step that is required with the desktop widget.
“The conversation rates that our merchants see with boxPAY are exponential compared to credit card billing,” says Company Co-Founder Gavin McConnon. “With Android in-app carrier billing product, the payment-wall is reduced to a single touch, making it incredibly seamless for the user. This will further increase successful sales for merchants.”
boxPAY's payment gateway works on desktop, mobile and tablet devices in various programming languages including Flash and HTML5. Merchants can integrate the boxPay desktop widget into their website by visiting boxPAY.com, and receive information for the Android software development kit (SDK) by clicking here.
