Yahoo! Answers has now officially been released into main SERPs. Simply
perform a search on Yahoo! and questions and answers are being surfaced within
results in (from what I can tell) various formats - directly within the results
and at the tail end of the SERPs. It is obvious that Yahoo is focusing on
the social aspect in search (if you couldn't tell from its acquisition of
del.icio.us). I have tested it before and was not terribly impressed with the
quality of the answers to any of the questions and think that the system could
potentially be ripe for abuse. The user and answer rating system will be helpful
over time, but currently, answers to some of the questions just make my eyes
glaze over. If you have a few minutes, it worth a look, if for no other reason
that to determine the value for yourself -
answers.yahoo.com.
