Yahoo! Announces Search Builder

Still lacking search functionality on your website? Yahoo! has just released a product to let webmasters and site owners add custom Web search functionality to their site. By selecting a set of trusted sites to search across or tune their own search algorithm to the topic of their choice, Yahoo! could quickly gain traction again in the search landscape if enough hard core web users adopt the new tool. In addition to custom web search, the tool also features site search and news search. Some industry experts are already equating the product to Eurekster's Swicki (and even Rollyo) as the modules help you discover what searches users are conducting through your search engine. Without a way to monetize on user searches however, affiliates and website owners will most likely shy away from the tool - regardless of the obviously better functionality than their main competitor Google.
