Many companies are starting corporate blogs - to increase brand awareness, increase sales or communicate company information. It's becoming a necessity for an online enterprise. But many companies attempt to conceal their identity, for fear that the public will deem the blog one big advertisement and downgrade its usefulness. However, misleading the blogoshpere will get you nowhere.

While your blog may essentially be an advertisement at its core, by including useful and valuable information - whether it be about your product, services or industry trends - readers will understand your purpose and not feel duped. In fact, your company may garner a sense of respect from the blogoshphere by being forthright in your intentions.

Like any blog, content is king. So, simply pushing your products probably won't produce a following. But sprinkling in useful information that enhances the usability of your product or starts a conversation about the industry could even make your company an authority. And at that point, you absolutely want your company name associated with the blog.
