Hitwise reports that among search engines, Google sends the most U.S. consumers to shopping sites - accounting for 14.93 percent of traffic sent to those sites. Yahoo came in second place, with 4.69 percent of traffic.
While this really shouldn't surprise anyone, what's notable is that MySpace was responsible for 2.33 percent of that traffic - nearly double the amount from six months ago. The social networking site is being targeted by many advertisers hoping to ride the Web 2.0 wave to riches. And if you're not considering marketing strategies for social networking sites, you're probably missing out on a big opportunity.
MySpace has also announced that they will begin selling music on the site.
