Ask.com today introduced a new version of its Ask Sponsored Listings to search marketers. The company has been quietly working with advertisers to create a better paid listings product which can accomodate for greater control over campaigns and keyword lists.
According to James Speer, vice president of products and marketing at Ask.com, "Everything we are introducing today is in direct response to the feedback we've heard. We expect advertisers will be very happy with the new platform."
Features of the new platform include daily budgeting, variable refill amount, elimination of monthly spend requirements, hourly billable data (an excellent addition if you require ROI tracking in real time), enhancement to the bulk upload protocol and refinements to the management dashboard.
Another exciting development is the Open Platform Partner Program, which provides Ask.com's partners with access to an API. The solution will enable marketing service providers to integrate Ask.com into automated campaign and bid management tools. Features of the API worth nothing are that it is being offered with unlimited free access. In addition, support for industry standards such as the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and access to enhanced data (keyword pricing for example) will provide many opportunities for solution developers.
