FortiusOne announced today the availability of GeoIQ, a beta web service for map analysis. GeoIQ's mapping technologies takes Google Maps, YahoO! Maps and Microsoft Virtual Earth to the next level of location intelligence by giving people a way to filter, analyze and get more insight from geographic data. GeoIQ uses colorful heat maps to show the results of data queries and analyses, like how does location “A” compare to location “B” in terms of any number of data parameters or criteria.

We believe GeoIQ represents the next logical step for web mapping technologies like Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps and Microsoft Virtual Earth,” said Sean Gorman, CEO and founder at FortiusOne. “To date, the information displayed on web maps has mostly been limited to showing the locations of data points. But to be really useful, web mapping applications need to offer much more than push pins. They need to empower people to make decisions based on all of the geographic data out there.”
