Search Inside YouTube Videos - Scary or Cool?

From the Google Operating System Blog, PodZinger (a search engine that uses speech recognition to search inside audio and video) added support for YouTube videos. Before you decide whether you think this development is scary or cool, consider this; you'll now be able to search your brand (and the brand of your competition) to stay up to data about what are people are saying, thinking about, and doing with your products and services.

From the PodZinger Blog, "Now besides simply searching on the metadata of the video files, you can search for terms that are actually mentioned inside the audio, allowing for a greater likelihood you will find relevant material. We're also automatically organizing the videos into channels based on the actual content of the video. Today you can narrow your search within entertainment, sports, and anime. And we'll continue to add more."

That's one more reason to optimize both your audio and video with not just metadata but include the terms and phrases which describe what you are doing online directly within the content with great frequency. Very cool - check out PodZinger now.
