Google Click Fraud & Invalid Clicks

Invalid Clicks - 10%, Click Fraud - .02%,
watching SEM's across the Internet pull their hair out
- priceless.

Google has done an about face and is now providing data to its advertisers about the degree of click fraud. The new media behemoth will, in the future, be offering a resource center to help advertisers learn more about the problem and how to resolve it.

Starting in March, Google plans to allow its advertisers to "blacklist" certain IP addresses for whatever reason (suspicion of click fraud or even poor conversions, for example). According to Shuman Ghosemajumder, Google's business product manager for trust and safety, "We're trying to provide advertisers as much transparency, understanding and control around this issue as we can."

According to Google, less than 10 percent of clicks on Google ads are deemed invalid with only 0.02 percent being declared fraudulent as a result of advertisers' complaints.
