Netscape Navigator 9.0 Rocks Social Web

There's more to Web browsing than IE, Firefox or Safari don't you know. Remember the days when Netscape was the cool browser to have installed? I do (although it's been a while since I used it).

Netscape Navigator 9.0 was Released today with some serious "social" features that makes it the first full fledged social browser.

- News Menu and Sidebar: The latest news is built directly into the browser. The news menu can be customized to contain only the news sections you want to monitoror and there is also a News sidebar available.

- Link Pad: The Link Pad is a new Netscape Navigator feature that allows users to save links/URLs that you don't merit bookmarking.

- News Tracker: The Netscape Tracker sidebar lets you monitor breaking news as it happens, via Netscape.com.

- In-browser voting: This is one of the big developments - a real game changer. Users can share and vote on stories of interest for Netscape.com.

- Friends' Activity Sidebar (FAS): Members of Netscape.com can keep track of what their friends and colleagues find interesting. View recent votes, comments, and story submissions.

It will be interesting to see how FireFox and IE respond in future releases.
Learn more about these and other Navigator browser features at Netscape.com.
