As many online affiliates and publishers are noticing earnings decreases, Google has formally announced Adsense for Video.
Google has been quietly testing a variety of ad formats since last May.
Adsense for video will use the InVideo ads adopted on YouTube, enabling
advertisers to make a "single buy" at scale. Google is also making available
text overlay ads which will be contextually targeted to signals in your videos
and on the page where the video resides. InVideo ads will be paid on a CPM basis
and the text overlay ads will be paid on a CPC basis. Demos of the advertising
are available here. Adsense for video is available to publishers who at a
minimum, according to the official post, serve one million video streams each
month and are based in the U.S. with English language sites.
