Yahoo announced that stating today, minimum bids will no longer be fixed at
$0.10. Advertisers will being noticed new minimum bids on some keywords - your
minimum bids can be lower or higher than the $0.10 minimum.
There have been quite a few changes to the Yahoo advertising system. The
new bid structure are similar to auction house reserve prices and are based on
multiple factors including keyword quality (defined as "number of clicks
relative to the competition) and, wait for it, the keyword's value (number of
advertising bidding on a keyword and what they are "willing" to pay for it).
Advertisers should understand that for a keyword to become active it must
be equal to or greater than their minimum bid - becoming inactive when the bid
falls below the minimum. YSM clients will be notified through their account
dashboard if the minimum bid for a keyword increases above your current bid, and
you’ll have a grace period of up to several days to raise your bid to keep your
keyword active.
