Local search site and ad network Local.com announced record search and traffic for May 2008.
The Local.com site and its Local Connect™ network received a total of over 16 million monthly unique visitors (MUVs) in May, up from a record total of 15 million MUVs in January, the company’s seasonally strongest month. Organic traffic also reached an all-time high, exceeding 6 million MUVs, or over 38% of the company’s total traffic for the month. This represents an increase of approximately half a million MUVs over February’s record 5.7 million MUVs.
The company is crediting its success to Local Connect, it's local search syndication network which publishes "business directories" on over 570 regional media sites (newspapers, TV and radio stations, city portals). Make you want to take syndicating your own content and advertisers, right?
