PayPal has introduced a redesign of the Developer Central Portal at the eBay
Developers Conference in Chicago. Launching in July, the portal will offer
business and technical kits to help developers market their services, identify
customer leads, and complete integration projects faster.
PayPal is offering 25 API's (application programming interfaces) that enable
online retailers to send and receive money online, refund transactions, manage
subscriptions, and check transaction histories. These new APIs essentially offer
more options for subscription billing and for conducting transactions with
repeat customers.
The PayPal Developer Program, launched in 2001, has more than 35,000 members,
but has certified just 300. With more than 60 million active PayPal accounts in
190 markets, PayPal continues to be the solution of choice for developers and
merchants - the announcement will undoubtedly secure that dominance for quite a
while.
