Register.com is launching a new hosting service for small businesses today. Now while
an announcement like this would not typically raise even a virtual eyebrow for
me, what stands out is the 100% uptime guarantee. If a site ever goes down,
Register.com will credit the account for the downtime - that's pretty huge. While it may not amount to much in the long run, making a statement like that certainly lends itself to trusting Register.com. There are also a few
other noteworthy features that might be of interest if you're in the
market for some reliable and affordable hosting (accounts range from $6.95 to $29.95 monthly) - namely, bandwidth overdraft protection. Unlike other
providers, Register.com won't shut your site down when a spike in traffic causes
you to exceed your monthly limit.
