There are many Adsense alternatives these days that are worth investigating, so let's look at one particular offering in AdURLs.com.

By all accounts AdURLs is a classic Adsense alternative. So much so in fact, that they openly advise their prospects that one way to use AdURLs is to use the solution when Adsense shows it's PSA's. Beyond that however, AdURL's has a few noteworthy features in addition to its 50% revenue share for publishers.

AdURL's let's publishers include keywords which influence the ads that are shown in each category. For example, I chose the keyword "marketing" in the software category and received a preview of some ads that would appear. (see below). AdURLs does process payments through PayPal and that will be appealing to international users - but that's about it for reasons to use AdURLs.

There are many problems with the program, including:

- The code isn't JavaScript, it's an iframe - not sure the reasoning behind this.
- The titles of the ads in almost all formats was cut off which will reduce click-throughs
- The program is pay-for-performance so publishers only get compensated upon a sale.
