Amazon Associates have a new opportunity in
Amazon Video On Demand. Affiliates can promote individual titles such as The
Office or Law & Order and earn 10% on all referrals (up to $1.50 per item).
There is no limit on the number of items on which referral fees can be earned.
The Amazon services enables users to watch movies and television shows
commercial free on Macs or PCs instantly - sort of like a NetFlix competitor.
Unlike the NetFlix Affiliate program however, Amazon Associates can add trailers
to their site via the Amazon Video On Demand Preview Player widget which should
help conversion rates significantly.
The first two minutes of videos automatically play at no charge to
customers when they visit the product detail page. At any time during
the 2-minute viewing period, customers can choose to purchase or rent
the title to watch it in its entirety, driving higher conversion and
increased referral fees for Associates.
