Facebook has made its content (groups, wall posts, events, discussion topics, etc.) accessible to search engines. This is an excellent opportunity for those in pursuit of SEO success.

Facebook could now be a major source of search engine optimized content. In fact, FB content is already driving substantial traffic from organic searches. The Website Magazine Facebook page has seen a dramatic increase in visitors and page views in the past few days and I expect that trend to remain consistent in the future.

If you're interested in search engine optimization for your personal brand or your website, I would highly advise that you get started building Facebook pages, creating groups and participating fully in that social network. The rewards will be many!

Interesting... I'm assuming however that you would have to set your company profile from Private (by default) to Public, so the Search Engine Spider's could spider and index your page? So this is something you would only want to do for you company/group profile and not your personal private Facebook Profile.

With so many changes happening in Facebook recently, I am not able to locate the feature that allowed me to create individual pages for items such as Blog feeds, etc.

But this feature is certainly a step forward for those of us that use Social Networking as an SEO tool.
