Not that you ever would, but buying links is a sure-fire way to increase the number and quality of links pointing to your site. While there are some downsides of working with programs, buying directly from other sites is hard to identify by those that are capable of penalizing you, so the prevailing thought seems to be - if they are, why don't we?
