Econsultancy and MediaTrust released its US Affiliate Census 2009 yesterday. The goal of the report was to decipher the ins and outs of affiliate marketing. Some highlights of the report include:

• 17 percent of respondents generate $600,000 per year for merchants
• PPC advertising ranked 48 percent
• Top three promoted categories are: Health, Sport and Fitness with 41 percent; Gifts and Gadgets with 28 percent; and not far behind is Books with 27 percent
• 58 percent of respondents see the increase use of mobile devices as an opportunity
