Users have increased their searches tremendously in the last six months on home (+68 percent), car (+105 percent), computer (+122 percent) and electronics (+214 percent) do-it-yourself projects. With a member base (and sample size) of more than 20 million, it's increasingly evident that Web users are searching for answers to questions on the Web instead of buying services or solutions outright.
So what does this mean for Web professionals?
The content you develop on your website needs to answer the most common questions of consumers - even if they never buy.
Do you title articles with most-asked questions in your industry? Here's an opportunity for you to populate search results with their question in your content, encouraging a user to click on your link. Figure out what the top questions are of those in your industry and provide the answers. This also provides you with new content for your site if you haven't already provided this information on your website. Make yourself an expert in your field so Web users continue to come back to you for information.
