Email marketing service provider StreamSend announced it has become a member of SafeHarbor and is meeting the requirements of the European Commission's Directive on Data Protection.
The Directive prohibits the transfer of personal data to non-European Union nations that do not meet the European "adequacy" standard for privacy protection. According to the Department of Commerce, “The safe harbor provides guidance for U.S. organizations on how to provide "adequate protection" for personal data from Europe as required by the European Union's Directive on Data Protection.”
