Online Video Hits Record Numbers

comScore released new data today of video viewing for the month of July and it proves one thing: online video is hot. The month of July experienced the most Internet viewers on record with 158 billion and 21.4 billion videos watched.

The data breaks down the biggest video properties with Google ranking first place at 41.9 percent share of all online videos. The following properties were Viacom Digital, Microsoft Sites, Fox Interactive Media and Hulu, respectively.

Multimedia can add to a user’s online experience, and this new data proves that online users are using it at record numbers. As we move forward, video may be one of those online tools that users expect to find on your site. Do you include multimedia such as video on your sites?

I'm sure some people have the time and patience for online video. But I don't find that it appeals to my casual (that is, when not at work) internet browsing.
