Location-based data provider Maponics has released a new version of its Neighborhood Boundaries product line that expands coverage to include metro areas in South America, Middle East, Africa and Asia. The latest Maponics release brings the total of neighborhood boundaries to over 105,000 in 42 countries.
The information, which is available to license in several GIS data formats and through its Sptaial API for Mashups, could provide useful for real estate sites, mobile applications, and local portals.
“We continue to hear from our customers that international neighborhood coverage is vital to their plans to add cultural and location context to everything from local search to social networking,” said Darrin Clement, CEO of Maponics. “This release shows how our aggressive expansion plan continues to represent significant value to existing and new customers—allowing them to make better decisions and offer more relevant Web and mobile-based services.”
