Comparison shopping site NexTag has announced the acquisition of product review site Wize, a purchase that will significantly enhance NexTag’s offerings to online consumers and increase marketing opportunities for merchants. Wize’s patent-pending Product Research Engine helps shoppers target their specific needs and budgets by providing them with personalized recommendations.
Wize has aggregated more than six million product reviews since its launch in 2006. User-generated ratings, reviews and recommendations are becoming increasingly influential for consumers, with Nielsen calling them the most trusted form of advertising. Already, more than 30 million shoppers per month use NexTag to research and compare product prices, and the addition of user recommendations will make the site much more valuable to both consumers and marketers.
