Twitter-reliant search and advertising network Tweetup signed several noteworthy distribution aggreements which aim to drive additional exposure for users.
TweetUp opened registration for the bid-based real-time search marketplace back in April 2010, and in May the company launched search capabilities on several high-profile sites.
TweetUp’s search algorithms, in combination with its upcoming bid-based real-time search marketplace, nicely satisfy the needs of both users and tweeters in a single search mechanism. While Tweetup relies in part on a variety of factors to determine relevance count on the bid amount as being the predominant factor as Tweetups founder Bill Gross, pioneered (if not outright invented) the paid search model at GoTo/Overture nearly one decade ago.
How this will all play out with Twitter's upcoming advertising platform and @EarlyBird specials is anyone's guess. We're betting Twitter is going to have something to say about it.
