In a move that should help facilitate the onset of mobile commerce for buyers and sellers alike, eBay announced today that it will no longer support third-party checkout solutions beginning on June 30, 2011. The statement from eBay Vice President of Seller Experience Todd Lutwak said that less than 10 percent of all eBay sales involve third-party solutions, so most sellers will be unaffected by the transition.

To help accommodate those sellers that will be affected, Lutwak said that eBay checkout is being enhanced with key functionalities such as advanced tax reporting, deeper credit card integration and advanced shipping solutions. Sellers can expect to hear from their service providers in the coming weeks, Lutwak said, as eBay is working closely with each one.

More information about the new checkout system from eBay can be found here.
