Some great notices there on how web design is changing & you also have to look at the different demographic groups as there are huge differences between them.

Some great insights indeed. I will say this is especially helpful for designers and businesses who don't take usability and accessibility into consideration enough when planning & deploying a new website design. With personal technology really spiking in importance the past few years, usability and accessibility need to be at the forefront of any design done for the web.

And I think it's also important that web design be looked at not from the client perspective of what looks good to them, but what will be best for the customers visiting the site. Customers who buy on the web are becoming more and more savvy, and have much more technology at their disposal to research products and purchase. That's one way that web design as an industry is really changing. That means that the focus when creating websites really needs to be put back on the customer and what they'll find most helpful or appealing, and not what the company being represented wants most.
