Google notified users of its Google Video product that it would end support of playbacks on the service starting April 29th. The company announced a few days ago (4-22-11) that it has since removed that deadline however and developed a solution to help those users automatically migrate their video content to YouTube.

While videos can still be downloaded directly from Google Video (via the video management console), the videos and existing links to those videos will remain accessible for the time being. Google has fortunately created a simple way to migrate videos directly to YouTube and is assuring users that their Google video links will continue to function properly.

You will need to have a YouTube account associated with your Google Video account. Once in place, simply select the “Upload Videos to YouTube” option on the Google Video status page.
