Elastic Path Launches in Google’s Cloud

Ecommerce platform and service provider Elastic Path is migrating to the cloud, announcing today that a version of its platform is now running on the Google App Engine.

Elastic-Path’s Java-based platform has been powering a few of Google’s online storefronts and commerce managers for Google Earth Pro and Sketchup Pro for several years through a colocation environment (Apache and Tomcat with a MySQL database) but it now runs on Google’s own App Engine.  

"Elastic Path is a true enterprise class application powering many online stores globally," said a Google spokesperson. "Having such a robust ecommerce application running on App Engine shows the flexibility, scalability, and speed of App Engine. App Engine is a game changer because it allows companies to focus on application development without all of the traditional infrastructure concerns."
