Images tend to receive better engagement metrics than regular posts when shared on social networks, so what if you could add underlying content to images in order to further drive brand engagement? Thanks to PassionTag, you can do just that.
PassionTag is a mobile app (currently only for iOS) that essentially allows users to attach content to images via ‘SmartTag’ functionality. The images, along with their SmartTags, can then be shared on Twitter and Facebook, as well as through email and SMS messaging. By leveraging the app, users have the ability to turn static images into interactive photos that contain actionable tags that extend the story they want to tell.
For example, brands could post an image of one of their products and add a coupon tag in an attempt to increase conversions. In addition, brands can add links to their social profile photos in order to grow their audience base, as well as include a variety of other tags, such as links to product pages, relevant content, incentives and more. It is also important to note that since SmartTags are attached to, yet independent of, the underlying photo, brands have the ability to track their tags if they leverage PassionTag’s fee-based platform services.
“Photo sharing is one of the fastest growing segments of the social Web, and we are excited about the potential our technology holds for delivering an engaging user experience that creates incremental revenue for brands, non-profit organizations and event management producers,” said Thomas Moewe, CEO of PassionTag. “Our technology elevates the role of the image, dramatically improving the consumer’s experience with photo sharing while enabling brands to turn static images into dynamic, actionable photos.”
This new technology has a lot of promise for brands, especially because it can be used to attach calls-to-action to images, which makes conversions just a click away for consumers. That said, the service has a few kinks that still need to be worked out, such as the ability for users to customize the language of their posts. But stay tuned, because according to Moewe, there are numerous updates coming to PassionTag in the near future.
