Facebook has made an update that will make it much easier for marketers to create and administer promotions on the network, announcing that it has removed the requirement that promotions on Facebook could only be administered through applications.
According to the official announcement, promotions can now be administered on Page Timelines as well as in apps on Facebook. The social network did indicate that in order to maintain accuracy of Page content, its' Page Terms now prohibit Pages from tagging or encouraging people to ta themselves in content that they are not actually depicted in.
This development however makes it possible for marketers to collect entries by having users post on the Page or comment. like a Page post, or when users message the page. What Facebook has essentnially done here is make the like a voting mechanism - making social interactions a virtual commodity that will be highly sought out by brands.
