The competition between Facebook and Yelp is heating up just in time for summer, as the social network has unveiled a new menu feature for Pages.
With the feature, restaurants can upload their menus through SinglePlatform from Constant Contact. Then, the menu will be displayed directly on the restaurant’s Facebook Page. It is important to note that restaurants already working with SinglePlatform for their other menu needs will see their menu automatically added to their Facebook Page.
This update, along with Facebook’s Graph Search, makes it simple for consumers to not only discover local restaurants, but also learn more about the type of food they offer without leaving the social network – similar to how Yelp’s platform works.
“When looking for a great meal, people often turn to Facebook to find a restaurant’s location, hours of operation and menu,” the Facebook blog states. ”That’s why, beginning today, we’re making it easier for restaurants worldwide to display one of their most important assets directly on their Facebook Page — their menus.”
