Adobe is in a mobile state of mind. Not only did the tech company launch a design layout app earlier this week, but now it has also introduced a new visual storytelling app.
The storytelling app for iPads, dubbed Slate, aims to make it simple to turn words and images into a story that can be published as Web content. Slate is a good option for students, teachers, non-profit organizations, small business owners and corporate communicators, as it enables users to create reports, newsletters and documents that capture attention.
The app features magazine-style layouts with a variety of fonts, colors and motion. Plus, Slate content automatically adapts to any device to deliver a great experience to readers on tablets, smartphones and computers. Moreover, Slate content is available as links that can be shared easily via text message and email, as well as can be embedded in websites or posted on social media channels.
It is important to note that Adobe Slate builds on the success of the Adobe Voice app, which is designed for creating animated videos. Similar to Voice, Slate features a collection on themes that can be used for any story. The interface also makes it easy to add text, choose the right photo layout and apply motion. In fact, the app uses an advanced Adobe animation engine to make words and images move with automatically applied scrolling transitions, which makes content more engaging. Additionally, the app includes call-to-action buttons, which enable users to link to online sites to encourage readers to take action like “Donate Now,” “Volunteer” or “Learn More.”
