Twitter launched its Moment feature back in Oct. 2015, as a way to help users discover content on the social network. Now the social network is making it easier for people to explore links within Moments on iOS and Android.
With the update, users can tap a link to a news article, blog, recipe or something else, directly from a Moment. Then, when the user is done browsing the link, they simply click out to get back to the Moment where they left off. It is important to note that in order to ensure that links load quickly, Twitter collaborated with publishers and industry leaders on the AMP project, Google’s open source initiative to help publishers make fast mobile websites. As a result, Twitter will begin displaying the AMP versions of news articles when available.
“People can now dive deeper into publisher content found in Moments, and publishers can continue telling their stories on their own websites, all while also accessing Twitter’s global audience. This expands possibilities for storytelling on Twitter, while providing more context for people,” Twitter said in its blog announcement.
