Testimonials can provide your Web pages just the boost they need to differentiate themselves on the search results pages and lead your site toward acquiring additional traffic. Fortunately, for SEO-minded designers and marketers, marking up testimonials use is definitely a beneficial exercise.

Merchants in particular will not be strangers to the role that testimonials play - and Website Magazine's coverage of digital user reviews should strike a chord. From individual product reviews to general service assessments, leveraging the markup for both testimonials and reveiws (the same type of markup, really) is becoming increasing essential.

The process for adding is identical to that of integrating the others listed in our Semantic Markup Crash Course.

Step One: Declare the vocabulary being used and the scope of the properties to add by adding the itemtype attributes to the outermost element container.

Step Two: The next step is start defining the actual properties from the schema.org/Reviews vocabulary including the author, the date published, the review rating (see also schema.org/Rating) as well as the description. See below for an example.
