The more seamless you make order management and delivery for online shoppers, as well as for you as an Internet retailer, the better off everyone will be. Fortunately, there is no shortage of opportunities at the ready.

Case in point, ecommerce software provider 3dcart has announced an integration with postage technology solution Endicia, which empowers 3dcart's 16,000 customers to print USPS labels with prepaid postage directly from the administrative interface. Merchants will be able to customize logos, text, images and other brand elements using the solution.

“With the addition of Endicia Label Server integration, 3dcart gains a competitive advantage by being the only ecommerce solution to allow online retailers to print USPS, UPS, FEDEX and TNT shipping labels directly from the admin interface,” said 3dcart CTO Jimmy Rodriguez. “Shipping can be one of the most difficult tasks in ecommerce, especially for small stores with small staffs. Over the last few years, we’ve worked to take the heavy-lifting out of the process—and the Endicia integration is a huge step in the right direction.”

The Endicia Label Server app will cost $15.95/mo but 3dcart is offering a 60-day free trial for existing and new 3dcart merchants.

E-commerce software provider
3dcart is tackling another aspect of the Web thanks to a recent partnership
with Mineful that will help its customers more effectively target their email
marketing campaigns.

Mineful is a software integration that uses the behavioral
data of customers to bring them back into a retailer’s store, and 3dcart wants
to utilize this technology to drive sales and create more meaningful and
sustaining customer relationships.

The inclusion of Mineful software will
allow the platform to use sales and customer information to send marketing
emails based on a variety of factors, such as timing, content and more.

Purchase data will be sent seamlessly from 3dcart to
Mineful, where it will then be converted into “actionable information” that
informs retailers how often customers purchase, how many purchases each of them
has made, the average sale amount, any increases in purchasing activity and
more. All of this data will be visible in a single dashboard.

But the real treat is that this data can be used to
configure rules that automatically trigger emails, meaning marketers don’t have
to meticulously pore over all of it to figure out which customers they should
target. The content of the emails will be fully customizable based on the
retailer, and elements like “subject line,” “image,” “body,” etc. will all be
separated for easy alterations.

Mineful will also track those who open the emails, click on
links or buy products based on the promotion.

provider AddShoppers.

3dcart customers can now include AddShoppers social
sharing buttons on their retail sites to help foster customer engagement and reduce cart abandonment. The integration also opens 3dcart users to
AddShoppers' social analytics platform that tracks when a customer
shares a product, how many of their friends/followers click the link and how
many of those people end up making a purchase.

Hundreds of retailers are currently using the AddShoppers
solution, which was the first to release Facebook Open
Graph-enabled “Want” and “Own” buttons. Because of the application’s
scalability, it can be utilized by stores of all sizes and it can be set up in
a matter of minutes.

When Facebook connect launched, Internet retailers rejoiced – they finally had a way to tap into the ever-growing popularity of Facebook. But only now are we beginning to grasp exactly how.

While true that pure-play F-commerce has yet to really take off, there are some rather significant remaining benefits, namely the impact on easing customer login and the role that ultimately plays in increasing conversions. Providers of e-commerce software (shopping carts and Web stores) are well aware of the opportunity and are quickly rolling out solutions for their clients to use.

3dCart, for example, just released a Facebook Connect integration that enables shoppers to sign in using their Facebook account from “My Account” and “Checkout” pages. First-time and return customers choosing not to save their personal information will still need to fill out their payment information separately. Using the system, however, will enable customers to bypass creating on-site IDs and passwords, and in so doing provide merchants with immediate access to information related to behavior and interests.

“A recent study suggests that 50 percent of consumers visiting online stores are simultaneously logged into Facebook,” says 3dcart founder and CEO Gonzalo Gil. “As online businesses search for more ways to leverage social media, Facebook Connect should be a crucial strategy in every retailer’s marketing playbook.”

Strategy aside, the feature doesn't come cheap. 3dcart’s Facebook Connect feature is available in its app store for $199.

According to eMarketer, most retailers who employ (intelligent, automated) recommendation systems report sales increases of 10% or more, as well as higher customer engagement and loyalty. Hard to ignore that, right?

The partnership will enable retailers using 3DCart to provide product suggestions through a free plugin-in. 4-Tell Boost provides automated cross-sell and up-sell opportunities for site visitors based on real-time behavioral data, historical sales data and merchandising.

“We chose 4-Tell as our partner because we were confident in their ability to help our clients deliver a more relevant customer experience, boosting sales and providing a best-in-class experience to the end-user,” said Jimmy Rodriguez, Chief Technology Officer of 3DCart.

Cart abandonment is estimated to cost Internet retailers roughly $18 billion dollars each year, according to Forrester. As it stands today, 7 out of 10 carts are stranded. Merchants would obviously be wise to start developing a strategy to recoup some of those lost earnings.

Listrak's offering will help 3DCart merchants recapture abandoners via automated email marketing campaigns. The solution incorporates dynamic merchandising to remind abandoners of the items left in the cart and prompt them to complete the transaction. To help recover those lost sales, Listrak’s solution also provides the opportunity for retailers to do a series of messages, test offer and non-offer messages, and incorporate product reviews.

“Our partnership with 3DCart enables us to provide merchants with an automated solution that is easily integrated with the platform and provides immediate impact to the merchants’ bottom line by recouping lost revenue from abandoned carts,” said Ross Kramer, Listrak CEO. “Our focus is on revenue and ROI, and this partnership enables us to provide that for 3DCart clients more easily,” added Kramer.

E-commerce shopping cart software provider 3DCart has announced an upgrade that brings online shopping directly into the realm of social and mobile media. For the first time, retailers using 3DCart 3.2 can post their products to Twitter and Facebook with a single click, integrate YouTube videos into their product descriptions and allow consumers to browse and buy from their smartphones.

Additional new features of 3DCart 3.2 include 30 new storefront templates, a new drag-and-drop edit bar, built-in photo editing using Picnik, 3DZoom product close-ups and more. There are over 50 new features in all, and 3DCart 3.2 is available immediately to current and new users.

Another new cart from "relationship-commerce" innovator OpenSky introduces a secure checkout technology that can be distributed to any site, allowing OpenSky sellers to integrate shopping seamlessly throughout their content.
