9 million member strong online video community Stickam has launched a new social login system to allow users to join chats with login credential from Facebook, Twitter, Google+, MySpace and LinkedIn. Social login is an increasingly popular trend among community/social sites and is something that all publishers should be actively looking into deploying on their own Web properties.

Broadcasters using the service will have access to a "master" chat room rather than having to manage multiple windows to maintain discussions. Live show hosts can also restrict chats to just their fans, friends, followers or contacts. This "conditional" access, while potentially aggravating to some users, is a viable way to increase engagement and greater social participation.

"Our broadcasters wanted a streamlined way to chat with their friends and fans from an array of social networks, so we have empowered them to choose exactly which networks they want to engage at any given time," said Hideki Kishioka, co-founder of Stickam. "Essentially, the Stickam social login feature makes it possible for hosts to control access to their live stream and chat, whether for added privacy or to promote social engagement."
