It's a given that the cloud is going to be the future of the Web, but there are still many questions being raised about the growing technology, many of them revolving around security. BitDefender is looking to pounce on this issue with the release of a new endpoint security tool.

Cloud Security for Endpoints will allow users to manage multiple clients from varying locations using one central hub, and the solution gives companies the opportunity to easily protect new desktops.

Promising "simple and non-intrusive protection," and integrated with BitDefender's highly rated security solutions, Cloud Security for Endpoints was created to help small to geographically dispersed organizations secure their data from the cloud, all while reducing the risk, resources and costs typically associated with protecting IT assets.

The company is also offering Cloud Security for Email to go along with its desktop client, which provides "enterprise-class email security from the cloud" that can be easily managed from a central Web interface and protects companies from email-borne threats using BitDefender's antispam, antimalware and content filtering technologies.

Of course, BitDefender is not the only company attempting to profit from this new technology, as Panda, McAfee and other security services have had cloud-based security tools available for a while.

Cloud Security for Endpoints will only be available for Windows desktops and servers for the foreseeable future.
