Ecommerce site search vendor SearchSpring released a social commerce application for Facebook today which allows merchants using the company's services (site search and navigation) to market their products on the popular social media destination.

One of the downfalls of competing apps is the general lack of quality when it comes to users being able to find products - where SearchSpring could potentially shine.

According to the release, the application works by integrating on top of merchants' existing shopping cart software. A product feed from the shopping cart provides regular updates to SEarchSpring to ensure syndicated product information is current. Category refinements for size, color, price range and other attributes can be added to existing pages.

Popular ecommerce platforms including NetSuite, Pinnacle Cart, Volusion, Miva Merchant and many others are currently supported.
