Real-time "answers" service ChaCha has announced the release of an affiliate program that enables marketers to monetize their social sharing activity by leveraging ChaCha's relatively massive collection of entertainment and information content.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect is that the ChaCha affiliate program actually works on a CPC basis. There are, however, different rates for U.S. and International traffic. While the per-click payouts are relatively low (two cents per click for those content items currently in my affiliate account), it is still not a bad rate for what you get in return.

Affiliates can share the content on their social networks (tweeting directly from the ChaCha interface) or grab HTML for placement on their own websites. It's also good to see ChaCha taking disclosure of sponsored links seriously. ChaCha affiliates have the opportunity to determine where they want to include a designation that the tweet is in effect sponsored.

"ChaCha is committed to making this affiliate program a thriving and lucrative initiative for both our participants and for ChaCha," says ChaCha founder and CEO Scott A. Jones. "We think affiliates of all shapes and sizes will be excited about ChaCha's new program. This program is a win-win partnership in that affiliates can easily monetize their social property with relevant and engaging ChaCha content."
