Web professionals often struggle keeping up-to-date and in-the-know with instant messaging, email, and the activity of social networks. The process of getting and staying connected can be overwhelming, which is why many opt for tools and applications which facilitate that communication. dotSyntax, an instant messaging startup, today announced the public beta launch of Digsby, a product that integrates account management of these channels into one easy-to-use application.

Digsby makes it easy to create a combined IM buddy list (for AIM, MSN, YAHOO, ICQ, Google Talk and Jabber) and features duplicate contact merging, tabbed conversation windows and two way SMS from within the IM window. Digsby also features e-mail alerts and includes an "Inbox Snapshot" view that allows users to perform actions like "mark as read" and "report spam". There are even real-time social newsfeeds for Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. There's even real-time audio/video chat through a partnership with TokBox.

"Online account management is cumbersome due to lack of interoperability and the need to manage accounts across multiple mediums," said Steve Shapiro, president of dotSyntax, "We think Digsby will be the preferred platform for high efficiency digital communication through our easy-to-use combined account management and integration."
