Launching a poll doesn’t only help marketers gain valuable insights from their audience, but it can also help a business gain valuable contact information and increased visibility over the social Web.

This is especially true for businesses that leverage the new Multi-channel Voting feature from Trumpia, which integrates mobile voting with Facebook voting. With Multi-channel Voting, marketers have the option to offer voters a mobile poll, host a voting campaign on Facebook or do both simultaneously.

Mobile voting utilizes mobile keywords, which allows businesses to gather customer data while also automatically growing their contact database. Additionally, social voting enables businesses to gain visibility because customer voting is highlighted on Facebook newsfeeds and voters’ walls. And while each voting channel offers its own set of advantages, businesses can use Multi-channel Voting to benefit from both.

“Our innovative approach to developing new features keeps us at the industry forefront,” says Ken Rhie, CEO of Trumpia. “Mobile and social media are two of the most prominent marketing channels in the industry today. What better way to leverage both channels than by combining them?”

Currently available, Trumpia’s voting platform also provides real-time voting results so businesses can view customer responses instantaneously, as well as graphical reports that highlight how many votes were cast for each choice, the number of votes cast through each channel and the total number of votes.

Professional networking site LinkedIn has made several dramatic improvements. This may just mark a new day for LinkedIn.

Changes to its polling tool now enable business professionals to receive a more in depth view of poll respondents and get more social simultaneously. The polls can now be embedded and distributed through users’ websites (copy and paste functionality after polls are created) and on social destinations such as Facebook and Twitter. This more “open” approach is sure to benefit LinkedIn’s awareness.

The improved poll application also provides application users with a deeper set of business intelligence data. Users can analyze answers, categorize the responses by age, gender, and even title, such as CEO. These analytics can be then used to gain insights from poll answers in specific demographics.

Another interesting item related to LinkedIn (and arguably most noteworthy) announced today is that its Groups feature is opening up to the public. Administrators are now able to make discussions searchable on the Web and on the site itself – enabling members to view a group’s discussion even if they are not a member of that particular group.

launched a publisher partner program. The solution offers website owners a way
to drive "incremental traffic" and brand exposure while providing BuzzDash users
with related, additional content on select polls. These related links on co-branded polls direct users to
relevant original content on a publisher’s Web site. This happens in a few way;
BuzzDash create polls based on content at the partner site, partner can suggest
polls (dubbed buzzbites) or partners can create their own.

“We think users will enjoy probing deeper into back story on our polls from
the country’s most trusted media sources. Publishers, meanwhile, get what they
want most – additional traffic from an audience they may not be reaching today,”
said David Gerken, CEO of BuzzDash.

The advantage BuzzDash has in distributing its technology is obviously the
greater mind share among website owners and increased traffic to its own website.
Sounds like a good idea for your own website, doesn't it?
