An online survey from marketing agency Prodo revealed that 86% of consumers believe companies should use social networking in their marketing.

Pippa Adams, Managing Director of Prodo said "The results of this survey demonstrate how quickly social media has integrated itself into the public's daily life. With the dawn of web 2.0 and the ever increasing popularity of social networking sites, marketing and branding as we once knew it is long gone."
Pippa continued, "By using social media companies are able to demonstrate a more personable side to their firm, whether they are a small hair salon or a national company. This helps your customers interact with you and develop a closer relationship. Even adding a blog to your website where you comment about your firm and industry news can be a simple, effective social media tool."
