Email marketing service provider StreamSend announced it has become a member of SafeHarbor and is meeting the requirements of the European Commission's Directive on Data Protection.

The Directive prohibits the transfer of personal data to non-European Union nations that do not meet the European "adequacy" standard for privacy protection. According to the Department of Commerce, “The safe harbor provides guidance for U.S. organizations on how to provide "adequate protection" for personal data from Europe as required by the European Union's Directive on Data Protection.”

"As we expand to serve an increasing number of European businesses, we continue to maintain the highest standards for data privacy and security," Dan Forootan, president and CEO of StreamSend. "We are completely aligned with the standards Safe Harbor sets, and the further assurances this commitment offers our clients."
