Choose Your Own Cloud with SugarCRM

Things are getting kind of cloudy for SugarCRM, the customer relationship management solution, as it has recently partnered with VMware to bring its vFabric Application Director 5.0 to SugarCRM clients.

VMware is one of the largest cloud infrastructure companies in the world, and by integrating its software into SugarCRM, it will allow organizations of all sizes choose the time of cloud environment that will help them best achieve their business goals as the use the CRM platform.

vFabric Application Director 5.0 is an application provisioning solution that reduces app deployment times from week-long processes to just a few minutes. It also allows VMware users to deploy any application into any cloud during the app’s lifecycle, including heterogeneous clouds.

By collaborating with VMware, SugarCRM is now able to offer its clients the ability to run their CRM service on-demand, on-premises or up in the cloud, and the vFabric Application Director makes it much easier for them to support the quickly increasing number of public and private cloud environments. When customers can use their CRM systems in a variety of cloud environments, it gives businesses an advantage as their organizations evolve and require different systems to operate efficiently.

Enterprise Cloud Adoption Rates Continue to Rise

We hear all the time about the rapidly growing adoption rates of cloud computing. Among enterprise customers, specifically, the cloud is quickly becoming more of a present reality than a technology of the future.

Bluelock is a certified VMware vCloudR Datacenter provider of Virtual Datacenters that are hosted in the public cloud, but more importantly, it’s one of the companies helping to drive this significant public cloud growth. Earlier this week, the company announced “continued strong enterprise growth,” adding a number of midsize-to-large enterprise organizations to its roster, including the VMware vFabricT Application Director, F5 Networks, eMeter and Codesigned, among others.

The company’s growth in its Virtual Datacenter revenue now exceeds 50 percent in a year-over-year comparison.

In addition, Bluelock has been named to the list of the “10 Most Powerful IaaS Companies” by Network World, made CRN’s list of the 100 Coolest Cloud Computing Vendors of 2012 and got a mention in the “Talkin’ Cloud 100” report from Nine Lives Media. In other words, the company is becoming quite the hot commodity in the world of cloud computing.

A Bluelock Virtual Datacenter takes just a few minutes to set up using either vCloud’s Director-based self-service interface or Bluelock’s managed services team, and it allows customers to quickly build virtual machines (VM) with public or private catalogs of VM templates. Or, if they’d prefer, they can simply upload their own virtual machines that are already running in an environment.

VMware Zimbra Comes to Verio

Verio, best known for its online business solutions such as Web and application hosting for SMB marketing, announced the availability of VMware Zimbra for OEM and via Verio partners.

VMware Zimbra, an open source messaging and collaboration platform, expands Verio’s portfolio of hosted email solutions for its OEM partners. The Verio and VMware partnership will also provide branding options for partners to private-label their solutions through the use of Zimbra Zimlets, which are tools for integrating the VMware Zimbra Collaboration Suite with third-party Web applications.

“The availability of VMware Zimbra for Verio offers IT organizations a flexible collaboration platform that can enable greater workforce productivity,” says John Robb, senior director of product management at VMware. “With its rich email feature set, extensive ecosystem, and broad range of partner programs, VMware Zimbra offers new business opportunities for partners to meet the growing demands of small and medium-sized businesses.”
